How old: 3 months, 1 week , 5 days (14 weeks 5 days)

Stats: 12 pounds and 23 inches long!

Clothes/Diapers: She is wearing #1 diapers in pampers but just graduated to #2 in honest diapers. She is also rocking 0-3 in gap and as of today 6 months in Carters!

Eating: Like a champ. She is exclusively breastfed. Well she only eats breast milk, mostly at the breast but sometimes mama needs to run errands or take a nap, so she gets expressed milk in a bottle.

Sleeping: she still sleeping in the bassinet but without a Swaddle!  She’s getting up 1-2 times. If it’s two times than is between 12-1am and again between 4-5am. This is if she goes down around 9. If it’s once, it’s around 3am. We are typically up for the day around 7.

I wrote that  a coupe days ago… She’s having a sleep regression, she was up 2-4:30am last night partying. Like WIDE awake, smiley and kicking her legs so much that that the bassinet was rocking!

Motherhood lessons:

  • Everyone has an opinion
  • Take advice with a grain of salt
  • Baby brain will cause you to put dirty clothes in the diaper pail and a dirty diaper in the laundry
  • If you eat while feeding your bAby, your baby will be covered in your meal of choice
  • Babies are natural birth control… Meaning sex ain’t happening. They sense when mama and daddy are getting cozy And they either scream cry or have a major blow out
  • Whoever said breastfeeding makes you loose baby weight should be shot

Breastfeeding contradictions

For starters I am pretty comfortable breastfeeding in public and in front of people…with a cover. Let me clarify I don’t care who sees my gigantic boob, however I doubt the feeling is mutual to passerbys and my in laws.  So therefore- the cover makes it a more comfortable endeavor. For those of you who use the cover can probably agree- it’s a huge pain in the ass, especially in the heat of the summer. The baby gets tangled in it as you tries to latch, then it traps heat so she detaches and squirms for some arm, we both start to sweat… I will literally spend a 10 minute nursing sessions trying to just get to latch on for longer than 15 seconds as a time. It’s no fun for anyone.

Even though I wish we lived in a society whee my boob wasn’t sexualized (however if seen that statement might be revoked considering my boob is the size of a cantolope, covered in prominent blue ways and a very pale, extra large aeriola/nipple), I do welcome excuse to leave social situations to just have 1:1 with my baby. It’s a great excuse: awkward small talk? Sorry gotta nurse! Bored of the conversation? Sorry gotta nurse! Just want a ficking break? Sorry gotta nurse!

Needless to say, I kind of feel like I am a walking contradictions. I want the freedom to whip a boob out without making my husband feel like a male passerby is going to pop a woody (ha! More than gasp in horror and wonder if this is the fate of all tits) and yet I want the excuse to exit whenever I want…

The struggle is real part 2

I forgot to add.. BOOBS

I am 5’1…. I am a 32G… What the fuck. I started off as a 32DD…

Thanks breastfeeding.

Will they go back down to my pre pregnancy size? I am sure they will be deflated but will I be able to roll them up and stuff then into my 32DD?

Otherwise I am looking into insurance paid for reduction!

The struggle is real

There a few things I am really struggling with and I am sure I am not the first to create a list like such:

1. Weight
I am still holding onto 10 pounds. I hear it could be from breastfeeding. I also hear it can sometimes come off fast between 3-6 months postpartum. I also hear it may come off when I wean.

Since I was able to- I have been strapping baby in the stroller and walking on average 6 miles a day. Hills are prevalent where I am, so you bet I am taking advantage. As of a week ago, I started Sean T’s insanity. I know I won’t see the the results form insanity just yet, however the walking has done nothing! I am literally only 4 pounds lighter than I was 1 week post partum. It’s making me super depressed.

As for dieting- I don’t really know how to. I generally eat healthy and I am not a big eater. I have heard that with breastfeeding one should eat every 3 hours to avoid ones body going into starvation mode… Which keeps the fat on. I just heard this today… Who knows if there is truth to it.

2. Sleep

I’m so fired it hurts. I see it in my face and I feel it mentally (gotta love baby brain).

I am trying to get Olivia to bed by 8. Unfortunately she usually fights it until closer to 9:00-9:30. She is the up at 12:30-1 to feed and then again at 3:30-4 and then again around 6. Sometimes I can get her back to bed with me until 8-8:30, sometimes not. Needless to say, this disruptive sleep is awful.

I also hear that when you are sleep deprived a hormone is released and this hormone does something to your body that prevents weight loss. Fun.

3. Comparing myself to others

I need to just stop. Every BODY is different just like every baby and every family. Maybe I should get myself off social media again…

4. My sex life

Sex hurts. It feels like Jagged knives. On top of that, I am exhausted and I feel unsexy. When my husband starts in, most of the time  I follow along and hope the baby cries. This makes me feel terrible.

Two months old!

I am over two weeks late but….My baby is almost 11 weeks old!

chicken- She has chicken legs. I have been calling her chicken especially when I am changing her and her little skinny legs are bouncing up and down

Peanut- her great aunt calls her this because she is tiny!

How old: 10 weeks 6 days
Stats: 10 pounds 5 ounces 22 inches long. My kid grew 2 inches in a month!
Clothes/Diapers: She is wearing #1 diapers! She is also rocking 0-3 in gap and 3 months in Carters

Sleeping: We discovered the Halo Swaddle and our lives have changed. For those who are unfamiliar, it’s basically a baby straight jacket. It’s a zip sack with wings that Velcro around the upper torso. It’s amazing. We Swaddle her in it and she sleeps well in her bassinet. She sometimes wiggles an arm out to suck her fingers but as long as she is content mom and dad are happy! She has also been sleeping longer! We can get 3-5 hour stretches. It’s amazing. Usually around the 5 am feed I just keep her in bed with me and we sleep cuddling until around 7-8. It’s my favorite.

  • People don’t fucking listen to you when you tell them what needs to be done in regards to YOUR child… (Aka your mother in law WRAPPING your feverish child in a blanket after specifically tell her to keep all clothes and blankets off to help break the fever…
